Meet the Margolis staff: Leoni Gabell, Desktop Print Specialist

Leoni Gabell, Desktop Print Specialist

In this latest article about the Margolis staff, we meet Desktop Print Specialist, Leoni Gabell and ask her all about her role within the company and how she helps Margolis’s customers.

What’s your role at Margolis?

I am a Desktop Print Specialist. I work closely with Canon to provide desktop printing solutions to our clients, with a view to reducing their costs and providing a managed print service. I also get involved with client services and running performance reviews to ensure we are meeting our clients’ needs and that our high standards are consistently met.

What’s your background?

I actually started at Margolis back in 2004 as a PA and as a consumables sales person. Later on, I progressed into a client services role where I provided training for clients on the multifunctional devices and ensured that their accounts and devices were running smoothly. I left the company in 2007 to pursue a career in banking and have worked on various compliance or computing projects over the years. I have worked in many client-facing roles and have gained most of my experience from contracting in London. I have also worked in a number of industries and in companies of varying size, which has given me a great knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of organisations and their needs.

Describe a typical day.

Each day is completely different. Mondays are usually spent in the office, working on proposals and solutions for clients and contacting clients to arrange appointments. The rest of the week I am out and about visiting clients. Some of the meetings are to introduce the desktop managed service and some to go through the solutions and cost-saving opportunities with clients. I also run performance reviews on existing clients.

What do you love about your job at Margolis?

I love working with people and helping them to achieve the best for their business. Finding the right solution for a client is a great challenge and very rewarding. I chose to come back to Margolis because the service and products are second to none. I love the honesty and transparency of Margolis. We’re “to the point” and always have the client’s best interests at heart. Margolis is a great company to work for and we have a fantastic team of people!

What are the key issues companies are facing at the moment and how does Margolis help solve them?

In the current economic climate, companies are focusing more and more on reducing costs and increasing operational efficiency.

Primarily we will always advise our clients that the best way to manage and reduce costs is to print through the larger multifunctional devices (MFDs). Many clients have achieved massive savings by re-routing their colour and mono printing to our Canon MFDs. However, due to convenience, security and logistics sometimes desktop printing is unavoidable and therefore some companies choose to retain the single function printers.

Many businesses are unaware of how much the consumables for some single function printers are costing them in comparison with the cost per copy on the large multifunctional devices.

We are now working on an exciting new project with Canon and have a fantastic economically viable solution in place for customers that are unable to completely remove the desktop printers from their fleet. With some great new Canon products on the market we’re able to give clients an uplift in technology, future-proofing their business, for less than they pay annually on consumables.

The last few years have given us a chance to help companies gain an understanding and ultimately to gain control of where their print is going and how much it costs them. Once we have that information, we can work with organisations to reduce their costs and increase productivity.

Margolis is one of a very small handful of solutions providers in the UK that has embraced 2012 and beyond with a great proposition. We are very firmly a managed print and managed document service provider that assists organisations in saving thousands of pounds a year by embracing user-friendly, environmentally-responsible products and services through grass route analysis.
